Our History
Serving the financial needs of local citizens was the primary goal of a group of merchants who recognized the need for a local bank, and so, The Citizens Bank Company was founded in 1863 and originally located on the corner of Fifth and Ferry Streets in Beverly, Ohio. The bank has continued to make every effort to serve the needs of this and every community where we have a presence.
Even as technology propels us into the future and we strive to provide our customers with the most up-to-date banking services; we always endeavor to pay homage to our roots with displays of local photos of years gone by along with some of the original books which record hand-written transactions from years past displayed at our offices. We look forward to a visit from you and will continue to provide “First Class Service on a First Name Basis”, just as our founders intended over 150 years ago.
